IT Support Engineer for Network

You would be a part a team providing second-level support to Heidelberg Materials, one of the world’s largest companies in the global construction materials industry. We work as cross-functional teams, therefore there are two network technicians in each team sitting with server, client and application specialists to provide full IT support. Besides deploying and configuring network components, you’ll also meet security topics like firewall management and content filter troubleshooting.

What will you do

You will be primarily responsible for configuration, management and troubleshooting Cisco network devices – routers, switches, ASA firewalls, wireless bridges and access points. We are responsible for more than 2500 WAN circuits, 3000 Access points, 900 firewalls, 5000 switches and over 8000 servers (both Windows and Linux-based) spread across Data Centers in three regions (Europe, North America and Asia). As well as working with Zscaler (cloud-based web filtering solution) and tools such as IPAM, SolarWinds Orion, NetFlow, Cisco Prime, Cisco ISE and others while mainly focusing on the following:

• Deployment and configuration (Routers, L2/L3 switches, Firewalls, Site-to-site and SSL VPN)
• Change implementation (SD-WAN boxes, DMVPN configuration)
• Incident management (communication with major MPLS providers)
• Troubleshooting and monitoring of infrastructure (on Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS, ASA/FPR and Fortigat)
• Processing general requests from internal customers
