Casualty Underwriting Manager / Regional Head of Casualty

Generali CEE Holding, one of the major and most trusted insurance groups in the region, is looking for Regional Casualty Underwriting Manager/ Regional Head of Casualty for its regional corporate business underwriting team.

This position represents a great opportunity for experienced Underwriters and managers, who are ready to assume a very interesting role combining high level of knowledge in casualty underwriting of large corporate & commercial risks, and having a main impact for large CEE casualty book, by steering and executing underwriting portfolio strategy, and being a regional matrix head of all 9 casualty heads and their underwriting teams of each CEE country.

The position is also responsible for creating and managing the relationship towards the Group Head Office in Trieste and Global Corporate and Commercial Central Team (GC&C) based in Milan ensuring local and regional business needs are well balanced with the strategy and priorities of the Group.

• Create, implement and ensure strong, flexible, compliant and effective underwriting strategy for Casualty Line of Business in Central and Eastern Europe region,
• Define, develop and manage robust underwriting governance through the regional organization,
• Lead, collaborate, motivate and grow diverse casualty underwriting experts’ community federating them to achieve,
• Collaborate, being regional counterparty, with GC&C Central Team based in Milan and Group Head office based in Trieste for the specific Line of Business,
• Be the underwriting/referral point for Casualty in the region,
• Impact portfolio performance – optimize deliver and provide narrative for underwriting and financial performance for the LoB,
• Have the final Underwriting responsibility on the business and capacity deployed in excess of local companies’ underwriting authority and up to the personal Underwriting Authority,
• Streamline underwriting processes and uphold the highest standards of underwriting,
• Drive excellence and protect required underwriting standards including pricing capabilities and tools,
• Manage and support cooperation with Risk Engineers and Loss Prevention function including defining the loss prevention value proposition,
• Ensure proper underwriting skills training and developing technical skills and nourish talents within the region,
• Deploy regional Underwriting guidelines in compliance with GC&C and Group Policies.

• University degree (min. Bc),
• Min. 5-7 years of relevant job experience (excellence in underwriting knowledge & business acumen),
• Very high communication and networking skills,
• Strong, mature personality with managerial experience,
• Very good leadership behaviors, confidence and independence in cooperation towards subordinates,
• MS Office knowledge (especially Excel, Power Point, PowerBI),
• Fluent English - C1 level required,
• Nice to have: specific UW trainings and/or insurance qualifications (e.g. CII Diploma),
