At Generali Operations Service Platform (GOSP), we're looking for an experienced Senior Middleware and Application Server Administrator to help us manage, evolve, and optimize our Kubernetes platforms across Europe.
You'll join an international team responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of business-critical application platforms that support one of the world's leading insurance groups.
What you'll do:
As a senior member of our Middleware team, you'll play a key role in managing enterprise Kubernetes environments while driving automation, operational excellence, and platform innovation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Administering and configuring Kubernetes clusters, including Red Hat OpenShift, Broadcom VKS, and Mirantis Kubernetes Engine.
- Managing patching activities, vulnerability remediation, and platform security.
- Performing advanced L3 troubleshooting and root cause analysis across infrastructure and application layers.
- Planning, documenting, presenting, and implementing changes in complex enterprise environments.
- Supporting migration, modernization, and upgrade initiatives.
- Leveraging automation and GitOps practices using tools such as GitLab, Helm, Argo CD, Bash, and Node.js.
- Collaborating closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams across multiple European locations.
What we're looking for:
- You are a proactive technology professional who enjoys solving complex challenges, takes ownership, and thrives in an international environment.
Your experience and skills:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Kubernetes in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes platforms, containerized environments, and enterprise architectures.
- Experience with OpenShift, VKS, Mirantis, or other enterprise Kubernetes distributions.
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes networking, ingress, services, and load balancing.
- Experience with automation, CI/CD, and GitOps methodologies.
- Familiarity with ITSM processes, including Incident Management, Change Management, and Service Requests.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Fluent English (B2 level or above). Knowledge of Italian, German, Czech, or French is an advantage.
