Brief Unit description:
- Windows Core is a Unit responsible for ensuring the development, provisioning, and operations of Microsoft Windows Core Services located on premises in many countries and extended into the most important cloud providers. Windows Core Services include Microsoft Authentication services (AD DS, AD FS, Azure Entra ID), DNS/DHCP, KMS.
- The unit is in the Infrastructure Operations Division of GOSP (Generali Operations Service Platform)
- Generali Operations Service Platform provides IT and Procurement services to Generali Group companies. Our purpose is to accelerate the Group's innovation and digitization strategy through the Cloud and shared platforms. Based in Italy it has 6 branches across Europe and employs about 1.000 people.

Job Description:
- We are looking for a Systems Engineer to help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our service rapidly expanding infrastructure.
- You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. Qualified systems engineers will have a background in IT, computer systems engineering, or systems engineering and analysis.
- Their main job profile involves designing and implementing computer systems, both software and network. Server professional ensures that the computer system responds efficiently to support the requirements of an organization.
Main Tasks:
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure that serve core services
- Install, configure, test and maintain core services systems
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of services, systems and infrastructure availability
- Monitor and test core services performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
- Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support, sometimes in stressful situation.
- Respond to critical off-hours requests in an On-Call rotation
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Provide timely and creative solutions to difficult problems
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
- Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows Core services environments
- Solid experience in the administration, hardening, secure and monitor Microsoft systems (e.g., ADDS, ADFS, DNS, DHCP)
- Strong experience in the Microsoft authentication services and protocols
- Solid scripting skills on PowerShell
- Good networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
- Fluent English (at least CEFR B2, written/spoken)
- Italian language – nice to have
